DR KELLS, also known as Ameh Sunday Kelvin, is an Afrobeat singer and songwriter from Kogi State in Nigeria, sometimes stylised as SWEETBOY. Ameh was born on August 6th, 1996 in his hometown Kogi State. He began singing at the age of 7 and was heavily influenced by artists such as Michael Jackson, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, and Drake.
DR KELLS began his career as a rapper in school and later formed his music group, FRESH GANG MUSIC, before being recruited by a larger group in Abuja called GMG. He became a full-time singer and performed at various shows in Abuja.

In 2016, DR KELLS had his first major performance with REEKADO BANKS and his career was steadily growing until he was robbed and shot in 2018, which led to the amputation of his right arm, leaving him with PTSD. ​
Despite this setback, he was determined to continue and pursue his dreams, motivated by friends and family to keep going. In 2019, DR KELLS was a winner in the GREE AC TALENT HUNT, which led to an interview and coverage on the Nigerian TV Station HIPTV. He also shared the stage with REMA, ZLATAN IBILE, TAMAYA MAYORKUN, and more!
In 2020, he released a song titled “JONZ” that brought him connections internationally, most especially, in the Bay Area of California, 2022. He became the face behind the Black to Africa movement from the Bay Area of California which led to his travel to Kenya, Nairobi the same year touring around Kenya and shooting the Black to Africa song titled “BIG STEPPA” official video in Nairobi and Mombasa, featuring American rapper YH Bizzel, produced by KONTRABAND BEATZ, a popular San Francisco Bay Area producer.
Additionally, DR KELLS released a hit single on June 20th 2023, alongside the official video, which was release on June 23rd 2023. This hit record has really been making a huge impact to his career, announcing the brand “ DR KELLS” to a different professional evolution.
